June 30 – July 28, 2013
Tuition: $1550 (includes a daily catered nutritious lunch)
Housing: $2750 (includes daily transportation to and from the Academy, chaperones, breakfast & dinner at the dorm, and lunch which is provided at the Academy.
Dancers from across the United States and around the world (China, South America, Canada, Europe) flock to DADA during the month of July to be trained, inspired and transformed by Ms. Allen and her world-class faculty. Students 8 to 25 years of age, dramatically improve their technical skills and broaden their dance vocabulary.
Classes are 6 days a week from 9 am to 4 pm in a comprehensive dance program that includes Ballet, Character, Horton, Graham, Dunham, Jazz, Tap, Flamenco, Hip Hop and Musical Theater. Pointe classes and Pas de Deux are offered to the more advanced. Additionally, an array of surprise guest teachers and lecturers are invited once a week to add a little spice.
The Intensive culminates with a glorious recital that always brings great joy seeing the work that is accomplished and great sadness for new best friends to say good-bye.

Local Auditions: Please call the Academy and register for your audition. The dates are on the next page. The audition fee is $25 and should be paid in cash or credit card. Please come with appropriate dance wear.
Ladies: Tight & Leotards
Men: Sweats & T-Shirt
Please bring Ballet shoes, Jazz shoes, Pointe shoes, and Tap shoes if possible.
Out of Town Auditions: Dancers should submit a video along with the $25 evaluation fee and a cover letter detailing your dance training and goals. Please make note if you are on pointe & how long.
The video should be a maximum of 3 minutes, and should demonstrate at least 2 different turns, at least one small jump, one large jump and your best arabesque line. Please include any specialty skills (tap, gymnastics, etc..) in the video.
