Teffy for short, is a 28 year old artist that grew up bouncing back and forth between Michigan and Texas. He is inspired by the graffiti covered streets of Detroit, the last remnants of the Motown music scene, and the flashiness of southern rap culture with candy painted cars and smiles adorned with gold and diamond grillz. He works in acrylics, oil, and airbrush to paint vivid sceneries and abstractions of reality. teffy circumvents the traditional fundamentals of anatomy, perspective, and color in favor of exaggeration and hyperbole. He often combines themes from pop culture and his daily life with dreams and memories to create imagery unique to only him. poorteffy’s canvas is like a window into his mind and a mirror that reflects his environment. His language is visual and his works are means to communicate and connect with the people around him.
