“Brothers of the Knight”
Appearing at the Saban Theater, Los Angeles CA.
Broadway legend Debbie Allen, in collaboration with Grammy award winner James Ingram, NBA All-Star Norman Nixon, the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, and a long list of community theater groups across the nation are excited to present Brothers of the Knight, a hip, rejuvenated adaptation of the classic Brother’s Grimm tale, The Twelve Dancing Princesses.
Get ready for this impeccably produced, exhilarating, foot-stomping, hand-clapping classic that has entertained audiences young and old from across the nation. This story comes to life in the form of music, dance, comedy, attitude, colorful costumes and imagination. Brothers of the Knight recounts the adventures of the youthful Knight brothers who, for reasons known only to themselves, leave torn-up shoes by their bed every morning. Their father, a strict preacher, has forbidden them to dance; however, the boys sneak out every night to dance the night away in the Big-Bad Ballroom until their housekeeper, Sunday, secretly follows them and solves the mystery of the torn up shoes.
This showcase performance that is sure to draw the attention of reviewers as one of the top off-Broadway shows of the 2014 season. This modern, hip retold fable is filled with magic and mystery, energy and fun, love and valuable life lessons that you won’t want to miss.
The production will feature local area dancers between the ages of seven and eighteen who will be selected and trained by Debbie Allen and her team of master dance artists.
